WHERE WE ARE

As of January 2007, a large part of the  Local History Collection and Archive, including the manuscript collections of the archive, have been put in remote storage.  Copies of some of the archival files are still available.
The Society has access to most of the photograph collection.
Several resources are part of the Park Forest Public Library collection, for now, while the Society is searching for a new home for
the Local History Collection and Archive.
Most of the copied files are maintained in the Reference Room at the Park Forest Public Library, 400 Lakewood Boulevard, Park Forest, IL.
For information about what is there, please call the Adult Services staff at the PFPL, 708-748-3731. Call ahead to make an appointment before going to the library.  Your question may require the help of the Park Forest Historical Society.
The Historical Society Archivist, Jane Nicoll can be reached at parkforesthistory1atyahoo.com, or a message can be left at the museum, 708-679-1950.  The 1950s Park Forest House Museum is located near the corner of Indianwood and Forest Blvds, just two blocks west of Western Avenue.
