Across the region South of Chicago, dozens of organizations are involved in ongoing efforts to preserve, evaluate, and celebrate our history.
We invite you to join us to look at our common issues, needs, and concerns to explore some creative responses. For many
months, a group of concerned local historians and librarians have been meeting to discuss ideas for a regional historical archives
and collaboration with regional history groups.
History groups are invited to display materials on your work.
[Table space – 6’ x 3’ wide. Bring your own easel for poster display. Book sales are not permitted.]
Supply firms will be sending catalogs for participants to take home.

What models exist?
How can a regional archives provide support for local work?
What might a regional archives look like?
Caring for Collections
What are the key issues and practical tools for local
collections?
Outreach and Advocacy
How do we use communications tools, models for support,
and partnerships?
The conference will include brief, introductory workshops on
collections care and disaster planning. Participants will be
able to attend both workshops.
